Discover Your Personal Decorating Style
What defines your personal style? If you’re like most people, the answer to that question has changed over time; if you doubt it, just take a peek at your high school yearbook! What defined your look then, is probably worlds apart from your style today. Same goes for our individual decorating styles that also evolve, as our preferences shift with our hobbies and interests, our changing incomes, our relationships, and our travels. Added to that are the varying needs our homes must accommodate, from baby-proofing, to downsizing as empty nesters, to work from home scenarios. New marriages and blended families require combining two households’ worth of furnishings and memorabilia into a harmonious home, just as moving to a new space gives us the incentive to look critically at what we’ve got, and do some weeding out of the things that no longer fit our lifestyles or tastes. All of these life changes present challenges, but they’re also golden opportunities to rethink, and re-define your home’s style. Throughout all of life’s changes—whether you own or rent, are single or married–you want your home to be inspiring, inviting and warm, as well as a home that truly reflects your personality and lifestyle. Your home is your space that you live in, so your unique and personal style should be about the elements that you love and make you feel happy in your space–not a pre-determined style label, or style dictated by someone else. Discovering and expressing your personal style is an adventure, and one that will lead you to a home more in tune with who you are. In this interactive workshop, you’ll learn the keys for how to start and finish decorating a space knowing you’ve made the right choices with items you love–that truly reflect your style–to create a home that is uniquely beautiful, functional and, most importantly, your sanctuary
